- Every task carries a season, the specific months it applies to (or "year-round"), and optionally a required home feature or Illinois region.
- Priority tasks for your selected month = year-round tasks + tasks whose month list includes that month, filtered to only the features you've checked and your selected region.
- Coming up = the same filtered tasks (excluding year-round items) whose months include either of the next two calendar months, wrapping from December into January.
Worked example
Selecting central Illinois, September, with "Basement / sump pump" and "Fireplace or wood stove" checked produces:

Measuring tips
To select your features accurately: a sump pump sits in a basement floor pit with a discharge pipe exiting the foundation; central air has an outdoor condenser unit against the house; an irrigation system has in-ground zone valves or visible sprinkler heads; septic/well applies if you're not on municipal water or sewer service.
